Jan 03 2007: Happy New Year! I was out of town since middle of Dec. Fixed the problems with the site when I got back. New Stuff: Web 2.0/AJAX/fancy stuff! Starting with the new sitemail system being put in place this week, the site will be moving to using a new ajax/xml/css based system. This means faster load times, less server load, and opens up all kinds of nifty new features. After sitemail is rolled out, a WYSIWYG fic editor is next for posting.
2006 12 06: Preparing for whole new version of the site, complete with downloadable client for posting and managing your fanfics. Also being put in place is the long (sooo very long) awaited content management system to improve the quality of the fics here. In the mean time, I am going through fics, from the most recent back, and if I don't find it acceptable in 5 seconds or less, it's getting tossed. There has been way too much garbage dumped here, and it's long past time to remedy this. As usual, i can be reached on AIM as Jimmykun. -Jim
Nov 09, 2005: Fixed the funky character thing with the fic wizard. Apparently, certain naughty word processors (such as word) embed naughty unicode to make things look pretty. These translate into funkines when used on teh intarweb. So, I had to modify to properly process them into sane characters. -Jim
Nov 08, 2005: Mostly repaired from problems due to Hurricane Wilma. While the hardware was repair, there was also database and server software upgrades, both making the site more fficient and stable. I'm still making sure everything is working fine with the new software. Additionally, I have finally finished the new Posting Wizard. No more pop-up, easier to use, cross platform with IE, Mozilla, and Opera, and most important of all: Built in support for multichapter fics! You can now upload the all the chapters in one shot. There is also now a preview feature so that you can make sure your fomatting is correct before you post! This should eliminate future badly formatted fics. The wizard will also strip out all html tags from the fics except for a limited handful, such as I, B, strong, em, p, br, and hr. More updates are coming as I catch up from the backlog of stuff. -Jim
